How do you make ice? The answer is simple, put water into a plastic ice tray and put it in the freezer.
Is it really that simple? Yes and no.
Where will you get the water?
How will you freeze the water?
You will also need an ice cube tray.
Let's explore getting the water, where does it come from? It's easy if you have a lake of clean water or a stream by where you live. You can walk to the lake and scoop up water in a bucket (ok where are we getting the bucket?) To get the water, you will need a faucet and plumbing along with a well or city water and miles of pipes and infrastructure to get the water to that faucet. Where is the water coming from, a lake or underground? Water is not self-sustaining and needs something to hold it, hence why we have dirt, clay or sand. What is holding the soil that is supporting the water? The Earth! Now lets look deeper. The earth needs a gravitational pull to support it along with light so the earth needs the moon and sun, the sun needs the solar system, so really to get water to your faucet you need a lot of infrastructure.
What are you holding the water in? An ice cube tray. Where are you getting the plastic, probably the grocery store. Where does the grocery store get the plastic? So now to get that ice tray you need a factory and fuel to make it. You will also need assembly line equipment. Along with the delivery system, trains trucks barges so it will make it to the stores and ultimately to your freezer, of course the freezer is factory made.
Let's stop here and look at the freezer to make the ice. For that you need electricity and a house. The house needs ground and also needs an electrical company to supply the electric, the electric company needs fuel to create the electric, solar, coal, or nuclear power, the fuel needs the same sources as the water mentioned above.
To answer the question, what is the recipe for ice? It comes down to one simple bible verse.
Genesis 1:1 IN THE BEGINNING GOD CREATED THE HEAVENS AND EARTH.
Job 37:10 (ESV)
10 By the breath of God ice is given, and the broad waters are frozen fast.
Job 38:37 (NIV)
37 Who has the wisdom to count the clouds? Who can tip over the water jars of the heavens?
John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word (Jesus), and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made through him, and without him was not anything made that was made
