As a combat veteran struggling with PTSD and addiction to drugs and alcohol, how can I find healing and be set free from this bondage?

If you are a combat veteran grappling with the heavy burdens of PTSD and addiction, know that you are not alone. Many veterans face similar challenges, and it is important to reach out for help and support. Turning to prayer can be a powerful step toward healing. Below is a heartfelt prayer, along with encouraging thoughts that may guide you on your journey to freedom.

A Prayer for Healing and Freedom

Dear Heavenly Father,

I come to You today in Jesus’ name, seeking healing for my heart and mind. As a combat veteran, I have experienced trauma that has left deep scars. These scars have led me to seek refuge in drugs and alcohol, but I recognize now that these substances only deepen my pain and entrap me in bondage.

Lord, I ask for Your mercy and grace to wash over me. Please help me break free from the chains of addiction that bind me. Your Word tells us in John 8:36, "So if the Son sets you free, you are truly free." I cling to this promise and ask for Your strength and support to overcome the darkness that surrounds me.

I pray for peace in my mind, comfort in my heart, and the courage to face my past. Help me find the resources and support I need to heal. Surround me with people who can guide me on this journey, whether through therapy, support groups, or loving friends and family.

I trust in Your power to heal the deepest wounds and to set me free from the bondage of addiction. I affirm that I am a beloved child of God, worthy of love and healing. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

Lord I acknowledge I am your child, I want to commit my life to you, I accept you as my lord and savior, please forgive me my sins, come into my heart, and make me into the person you want me to be, in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen

“because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved.” ‭‭Romans‬ ‭T. N. T. 10:9-10‬ ‭ESV‬‬ DYNAMITE VERSES

Remember, you are not alone in this fight. Reach out for help, lean into your faith, and trust that healing is possible. With God’s grace and the support of those around you, you can find freedom from the chains of addiction and peace in your heart.
