If you need an Order of Protection, here’s what you need to know:

Visit Your Local Courthouse – You can request an order through Family Court, Criminal Court, or Supreme Court, depending on your situation.
File a Petition – Provide details about the abuse or threats you’ve experienced. Court staff can assist with the paperwork.
Attend a Hearing – A judge will review your case and may issue a temporary order immediately. A full hearing will be scheduled to determine a final order.
